Following Best Practices
1. Follow Valuable Users
Be selective:
Following too many users can cause you to miss important information.
Recommended:
- Follow users whose interests align with yours
- 10-50 follows is a manageable range
2. Review Periodically
Clean up your follow list:
Take time to review your follows on a regular basis.
Recommended frequency: Every 3 months
Checklist:
- Users who haven't been active recently
- Users in areas you're no longer interested in
- Whether it's still worthwhile to follow each person
3. Consider Following Back
Foster communication:
When someone follows you, take a look at their profile and consider following them back.
Examples:
- Same team member -> Following back recommended
- Highly skilled user -> Following back recommended
- Different areas of interest -> Following back is optional
Following Combined with Other Features
Follow + Bookmarks
How they complement each other:
Follow: Track a user's overall activity
Bookmark: Save specific pieces of content
Example:
- Follow an expert to catch their latest posts
- Bookmark particularly useful content for reference

Blocking
What blocking does:
- Blocked users can no longer view your content
- Blocked users can no longer interact with your content (likes, comments, follows, etc.)
How to block:
- Open the dropdown menu on the user's profile page and select "Block"
- Alternatively, go to Settings > "Blocked Users" to block or unblock someone
Memoreru's Approach to Following
Content-Centric Design
Content takes center stage, not people:
Memoreru's follow feature is a tool for discovering quality content, not for building a personal following.
Traditional social media:
Follower count = Influence
-> Tends to become a numbers game
Memoreru:
Following = Registering useful information sources
-> Focuses on content quality
Subtly Displayed Metrics
Quality over virality:
Follower counts are shown subtly, so you can focus on the content itself.
FAQ
Q1. Will the other person be notified when I follow them?
A: Yes, they will receive a notification when you follow them.
Unless they have turned off follow notifications in their settings.
Q2. Will the other person be notified when I unfollow them?
A: No, unfollowing does not trigger a notification.
Q3. Is there a limit on the number of users I can follow?
A: There is no follow limit in the current version.
However, we recommend keeping it manageable (around 10-50 users).
Q4. Is content from users I follow shown with priority?
A: Yes, content from users you follow is prioritized in your feed (timeline).
Q5. Can I create follower-only content?
A: Yes. You can set the access level to "Followers only" in the publish settings for a piece of content. This works as an additional restriction on top of the visibility scope (PUBLIC / TEAM / PRIVATE), limiting access to your followers only. You can change this setting from the publish settings screen.
Q6. Can I check for mutual follows?
A: You can compare your following and follower lists manually to identify mutual follows.
A dedicated mutual follow indicator is planned for a future release.
Q7. Can I make my follow list private?
A: Yes. You can toggle the visibility of your following and follower lists in your account settings.
