Account Settings
Overview
Account settings let you manage security-related configurations such as your email address, password, and two-factor authentication.
Note: Password change, two-factor authentication, session management, and logout features are available.
Accessing the Settings Screen
Steps:
User icon in the upper-right corner > "Settings" > "Account" tab
Settings tabs:
The settings screen has six tabs:
- Account: Change your email address and password
- Security: Two-factor authentication and session management
- Privacy: Visibility settings and blocking
- Notifications: Configure notification types and channels
- Billing: Subscription and plan management
- Preferences: Language, theme, and other environment settings
Changing Your Email Address
How to Change
Steps:
1. Open the account settings screen
2. Click "Change" in the "Email Address" section
3. Enter your new email address
4. Enter your password (for identity verification)
5. Click "Save"
6. A confirmation email is sent to your new address
7. Click the link in the email to confirm
8. Your email address is updated
Note: Your old email address remains active until the confirmation is complete.
Changing Your Password
How to Change
Steps:
1. Open the account settings screen
2. Click "Change" in the "Password" section
3. Enter your current password
4. Enter your new password
5. Re-enter your new password (confirmation)
6. Click "Save"
7. Your password is updated
Creating a Strong Password
What makes a good password:
Recommended:
- 12 or more characters
- Mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
- Not a dictionary word
- Different from passwords used on other services
Avoid:
- Fewer than 10 characters
- Birthdays or names
- Sequential characters (123456, abcdef)
- Reusing a password from another service
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Enabling 2FA
Steps:
1. Open the account settings screen
2. Click "Enable" in the "Two-Factor Authentication" section
3. A QR code is displayed
4. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.)
5. Enter the 6-digit code shown in the authenticator app
6. Click "Confirm"
7. Backup codes are displayed
8. Save the backup codes in a secure location
9. Two-factor authentication is now enabled

- Google Authenticator
- Authy
- Microsoft Authenticator
Disabling 2FA
Steps:
1. Open the account settings screen
2. Click "Disable" in the "Two-Factor Authentication" section
3. Enter your account password
4. Click "Confirm"
5. Two-factor authentication is now disabled
Note: For security purposes, we strongly recommend keeping two-factor authentication enabled.
Deleting Your Account
How to Delete
Steps:
1. Open the account settings screen
2. Click "Delete Account" at the bottom of the page
3. Read the warning message
4. Enter your password
5. Click "Delete"
6. A confirmation email is sent to your registered email address
7. Click the confirmation link in the email
8. Your account is deleted
Warning:
- A deleted account cannot be recovered
- All content you created will also be deleted
- Team membership information will be removed
- Please think carefully before proceeding
Session Management
Viewing Active Sessions
Steps:
1. Open the account settings screen
2. Go to the "Sessions" section
3. A list of devices currently logged in is displayed
Information shown:
- Device name
- IP address
- Last access date and time
- Current session (this device)
Removing a Session
Steps:
1. Find the session you want to remove in the session list
2. Click the "Remove" button
3. That device is logged out
Use case: Useful when you forgot to log out on another device.
Best Practices
Strengthening Security
Recommended settings:
- Set a strong password
- Enable two-factor authentication
- Change your password periodically (every 3-6 months)
- Review active sessions regularly
- Monitor for suspicious access
Password Management
Recommended:
- Use a password manager
- Never reuse passwords across services
- Change passwords periodically
FAQ
Q1. What if I forgot my password?
A: Click the "Forgot your password?" link on the login screen to start the password reset process.
A reset link will be sent to your registered email address.
Q2. Can I switch to a different authenticator app?
A: Yes. First disable 2FA, then re-enable it using your new authenticator app.
Q3. What if I lost my backup codes?
A: Disable two-factor authentication and re-enable it.
New backup codes will be issued.
Q4. I'm not receiving the email address confirmation email
A: Please check the following:
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Verify there are no typos in the email address
- Check your mail server's filter settings
