Choosing the Right Search Method
When You Know the Keywords
Recommended: Full-text search
Example: Search for "React"
-> Shows content with "React" in the title or description
When You Want to Search by Content Type
Recommended: Filtering
Example: Show "Table" type only
-> Lists only database-type content
When You Want to Search by Topic or Theme
Recommended: Category/Tag search
Example: "Programming" category
-> Lists all programming-related content
When You Want to Apply Specific Conditions
Recommended: Combine filtering with search
Example: "Created by me" + "Table" + "Since last month"
-> Shows only content matching all conditions
Search Tips
1. Crafting Effective Keywords
Effective searching:
-
Use specific keywords
- Not ideal: "program"
- Better: "React custom hooks"
-
Combine multiple keywords
- Better: "task management table"
Hint:
Keywords separated by spaces are treated as AND searches.
Example: "React TypeScript"
-> Searches for content containing both keywords
2. Making Use of Filters
Step-by-step narrowing:
- First, filter by content type
- Then narrow by time period
- Finally, search by keyword
This sequence helps you find content efficiently.
3. Organizing Categories
To make content easier to find:
- Assign appropriate categories when creating content
- Keep category hierarchies shallow (3 levels max)
- Use the same category for related content
